The New York Knicks (25-13) defeated the Detroit Pistons (14-25) yesterday by a score of 102-87 from the O2 arena in London.

The Knicks started off the game red hot from the field going up by a score of 16-2, and held a nice lead all game until late in the 3rd quarter when the Pistons went on a mini run. Even with the run the Knicks never relinquished the lead.

Carmelo Anthony showed the range early hitting 3 three pointers in the first, but cooled off considerably in the second half. Carmelo led the way, and finished with 26 points on 8/19 shooting. Amar'e clearly had his best game back scoring 17 points with 5 rebounds, shooting 3/5 from the field. The most impressive stat from Amar'e was getting to the free throw line, and cashing in (11/12).  While it might of not shown on the stat sheet Pablo Prigioni was a pest all game (busting his nose up in the process). He has really stepped up during Felton's absence. Iman Shumpert looked very good, and fresh in his season debut coming off of a torn ACL. He will be a huge asset to this team going forward.

This was a big game with the next three upcoming games being all division battles (Brooklyn, Boston, Philly). The good news on the injury front is if all goes well Raymond Felton could be back in game action Saturday Vs. the 76ers.

Notes:

Rasheed Wallace expects to be back at some point this season, Hes been battling a foot injury.

Even Though the Knicks had 16 Turnovers they were still able to win by double digits. Obviously that will have to improve.

Iman Shumpert started and played 15 minutes in his debut.

Next Game: 1/21 Brooklyn Nets 3:30 PM MSG
