The New York Knicks (32-18) were defeated by the Toronto Raptors (21-32) to close out the first half at Madison Square Garden.

There is no way around it, this was a very tough game to swallow. Countless missed lay ups, free throws, and careless mental mistakes. While it only counts as one game in the standings this trend can't continue getting closer to April, and playoff time. I don't want to take anything away from the Raptors as they are a vastly improved team with Rudy Gay, but if the Knicks plan on taking the next step, games like this can't happen.

Carmelo Anthony had a rare off night from the field shooting 5/24 from the field and 1/6 from downtown scoring 12 points while bringing down 12 boards. The effort was there for Melo, it just simply wasn't his night.  J.R. Smith dropped in 26 points off the bench on 5 3's. Alan Anderson was the high scorer for the Raptors scoring 26 points (1 shy of his career high) on 6/8 shooting from downtown.

Notes:

-If The Playoffs started today the Knicks would face the Celtics in the 1st Rd.

-The Knicks go into the break losing 3 of the last 4.

-James White (Dunk contest), and Novak (3 point shootout) represent the Knicks Saturday night on TNT.
